Always
refrigerate after opening.
For ferrets as a preventative: 5 drops, once a day.
For megaesophagus: 5 to 8 drops twice a day.
For ferrets as a treatment for cancers:
Minimum: 5 drops, 2-4 times a day
Maximum: 8 drops, 4 times a day
If the ferret develops diarrhea, cut back on the dose.
In some cases the tumor will seem to grow and become harder before it begins to
reduce in size. This is because the Essiac is collecting the cancerous cells from the rest
of the body, and depositing them on the tumor. In many cases, it's a good sign.
To deliver, you can mix the Essiac with a soup, made of Hills A/D and water, baby
food and water, or whatever the ferret will eat. You can deliver the Essiac directly,
mixed with an equal amount of water, but many ferrets will become stressed when you try to
force in the syringe.
We make up a soup of 50% A/D, 50% water. We put a small amount in a custard cup,
and warm it in the microwave. Then we add the Essiac. In most cases the ferret will go
right for the mixture, and look for more.
For megaesophagus, we thinned a bit of chicken baby food with water, warmed it,
and added the Essiac. Once again, the ferret ate the mix without any complaints.
For Topical Use:
Mix 8 drops of Essiac with 1 cup of warm water and soak the affected area for 10
minutes, twice a day.
Alternately, if the area can't be soaked (such as if the tumor is on the ferret's
nose), you can apply the mixture using a gauze pad. Keep the mixture applied for 10
minutes, twice a day. |
